Pulp: Staffers: we’ll be selling pulp. at lunches next week. On Monday we’ll probably have some sign-up slots available.
A wonderful job by all concerned at the festival. Couldn’t have been prouder of this release party.
At some point this week, we’ll try to meet briefly with the new staff. More details ASAP.
CRR:
Family Values: Today we discussed the significance of the opening sequences of Married With Children, Roseanne and The Simpsons. Specifically, the role of music (ironic in MWC; reinforcing the blue-collar appeal of Roseanne); the referencing of past sitcoms (the exterior views of the houses, even when they appeared run-down); and even the way The Simpsons continually updates its visuals while maintaining consistency (kind of like Rob Petrie not tripping over the ottoman on Dick Van Dyke).
You turned in your finals. (If you didn’t, you have till Monday, then that ship has sailed.) Then we watched the opening of season 24 of The Simpsons, “The Saga Of Carl Carlson.” (Remember, The Simpsons is the longest-running sitcom ever.)
Please try to watch the last five minutes of this episode (which we didn’t get to in class). I will have a couple of questions about it for you on Monday.
Also: I would like to do one final notebook check Monday. Here are the dates for which you should have entries:
April 22, 24, 26, 29. May 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 15, 17, 20, 22.

Survey: CNF: Everyone took the final for Happily Ever After. If you were absent, you’ll be taking it next week. If you still have to take the final in Screenwriting or CNF, you’ll be doing that on Monday. Portfolio reviews will be dominating much of the final week. We scheduled the first round:
Monday Block 1: Dean
Tuesday Block 3: Cunningham, Abby Lewis, McCormick, Nickel, Poluha, Talbott
Tuesday Block 4: Jones, Kraus, Sara Lewis, McNulty, Olszewski
Everyone else will be going on Wednesday and Thursday.
