Poetry Workshop: Today: we finished Olszewski and then Turner. All annotations and comments are done, so the plan is to workshop the remaining four poems next week.

Your Round Two poems are due next Wednesday — earlier would be welcome. Snow days really stretched this round out; expect the next round to go a little faster.

Short Fiction Workshop: Worked on material for next round, which must be a piece that involves magical realism. Round 2 will be set on Monday, and the first stories will be due on Wednesday. Somebody’s got to do it!

Long Fiction Workshop:

Daily Prompt: I read Horton Hears A Who aloud. You started writing children’s books in pairs. Early returns: frightening. We’ll work on these more in class on Monday, assuming that we get to rehearse for B&N on Friday.

BatCat: Design ideas for the new books were worked on and turned in at the end of class.

7/8 Lit Arts:

7th Grade:

Survey: CNF:  Today we tried building your “greatest fear” essays by filling in an idea chart, which contained three related moments and some ideas about riffs for each, as well as focus and theme. These essays are due next Tuesday.
