Poetry Workshop: Today: S. Fox and Olszewski. We’ll try to finish this rotation Wednesday.

Your third rotation pieces are due on the blog by the start of class Wednesday. I’ll have packets to give you for the weekend.

Short Fiction Workshop: Workshopped Sydney, Savannah, and Kelly. Allison and Jillian for Monday.

Long Form Fiction Workshop:  Today in class I asked (the three of you who were present) to write an interaction between two of your character’s where they are in conflict from one of the character’s perspectives. For Wednesday, I would like you to write the same scene from the other character’s perspective.  I would like them typed and at least 500 words each.  (1000 total.) Try to put yourself in the mindset of both character’s and have as much sympathy and understanding for them as possible. Additionally you have a permission slip to read “A Long Way Down.” If you did not get one (as many of you were not in class) it is on my desk. If you can get it in to me by Wednesday, I will give you a couple of extra credit points.

Daily Prompt: I postponed notebook check/reading until Wednesday. You still have the two required prompts (the map one and the presidents one) due, as well as two of your own.

I assigned another prompt, which you can use for next week. (Unless you’ve already done it, in which case you can substitute your own prompt.)

Prompt #129: Write about something that has been forgotten by everyone but you. You can approach this idea from any genre (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, whatever).

Press: The usual.

7/8 Lit Arts: Due to the PSSAs we did not have class again today. However, your profile pieces are still due, and I have not received them from many of you.  You need to turn in the following 1.) A list of 20 questions with detailed answers,  about your subject (person.) 2.) A 750-word essay (or more) that uses these questions to educated your reader on the person of interest.  If you are unsure about what you owe please check your grades. The Assignment is worth 50 points 10 for the questions/answers and 40 for the essay. If you have a zero, then that means I have received nothing from you. If you have a 10 or less, than I have only received you’re questions and answers, and not the essay itself.  Please make sure you turn this in to me ASAP. You have had many weeks to work on this now.

7th Grade:

Survey: Screenwriting: Today we heard the last of the pitches – nice job, everyone. Good stories all around.

Homework for Wednesday: read a screenplay. Any screenplay (as long as it’s a feature that was meant for the big screen, that is). Here are some links to check out:

Screenplays from this year’s Oscar nominees

If nothing here strikes your fancy, just do a Google search – you’ll probably find whatever it is you’re looking for.
