Poetry Workshop: Today: McNulty, Cunningham and Pierri. For Wednesday: comments and annotations for Ohlund and Kreitzburg.
Fiction Workshop: Today we went over Olivia and Autumn’s pieces. Rosemary and Jonnah’s stories were handed out and will be workshopped on Wednesday. Please make sure to keep your comments and annotations consistently high quality! Good job so far.
Family Values:
BatCat: Today we played around with AWP promo ideas – looks like it’s probably going to be a pretty easy year, I hope! On Friday we will be sitting down to discuss both manuscripts in detail, so please make sure that they are read, and read closely.
7/8 Lit Arts: Today we took a sort-of quiz on chapters 13-15, discussed why Holden’s encounter with Maurice and Sunny represented a turning point in the novel, and reviewed some of your “Haiku for Holden.”
For next week: please read chapters 16-18!
7th Grade: New rotation. We watched “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up” and voted on who you thought the Martian really was. We’ll find out Friday!
Survey: Screenwriting: Today we continued to discuss the basics of 3 act structure, focusing on what plot points are and how to identify them. Also, instead of going back to the whole “story mountain” model, we’re going to grab both ends of the mountain line, pull, and straighten it out. Here’s the board:
After notes, we watched several Pixar shorts and discussed how they might fit into this paradigm.
