Violence: Shortened class. We covered Bullock and Denny’s projects. We will divide the rest among our final two classes next week. For Tuesday, make sure you’ve read through number 11 in the packet.

Remember: your King Lear paper is due Tuesday. Ask questions earlier, rather than next week!

Radio: Today you handed in your final projects, accompanying written materials, and filled out a review form. Radio 1.14.16 – Final Project Review

If you didn’t finish your review in class, please give it to me tomorrow morning.

Siren: Worked on February copy, which is due next Tuesday (with art).

Style: Today you handed in notes on you final style. If you did not hand in notes for some reason, please do so ASAP. There will be no exemptions regardless of absence, since this is an individual assignment.

Survey: Poetry: We reviewed a list of common poetic tropes and terms that aren’t in the book. Next Thursday, Jan. 21, we will have an extra credit quiz on these terms, along with the 15 spelling words from our spelling bee last December. See me if you didn’t get these handouts.

If you get a perfect score on the quiz, you get five bonus points added to your final. If you get an A, you get three bonus points. If you get a B, you get two bonus points. And if you get all 15 spelling words correct, you get one point, regardless of how you do on the rest.

If you want to practice tropes and terms, here is a practice sheet. Common terms and tropes practice January 2016 Probably one or two of these examples will appear on the quiz.

Your self-portrait poem is due next Thursday, as well — your final poem of the semester. Make it your best!

Survey: Fiction: Prompt 12 was checked, and then we reviewed for the final, which is taking place on Tuesday.
